Shebitqo

Shebitqo
(reigned c. 706–690 BC)
   Throne name Djedkaure. Successor of Shabaqo of Dynasty 25. He faced mounting pressure from the expanding Assyrian empire and supported a rebellion of the Palestinian states against Assyrian domination. Egyptian forces under the command of Taharqo were defeated at Eltekeh in 701 BC, and Assyriaremained a constant threat. He was buried at el-Kurru in Nubia.
